About Leo
I am a highly qualified and experienced robotics research scientist with a PhD in Computing and Electronic Systems, a Master’s degree in Intelligent Systems and Robotics, and a degree in Computer Science. With 9 years of academic experience and 4 years of industrial experience, I bring a strong combination of subject knowledge, teaching expertise, research experience, and practical industry insight to my tutoring, including 3 years of graduate teaching.
I am passionate about helping students develop a deep understanding of computing concepts, build confidence in their abilities, and achieve their academic goals. I aim to make complex technical topics accessible through clear explanations, practical examples, and a student-centred approach tailored to individual learning needs and abilities.
My areas of expertise include robotics and autonomous systems, Python programming, computer vision, computer aided design and machine learning. By combining academic knowledge with real-world industry experience, I help students connect theoretical concepts with practical applications, develop problem-solving skills, and prepare effectively for assessments, coursework, and future careers in technology.
I am committed to creating a supportive, engaging, and encouraging learning environment where students feel confident asking questions, exploring new ideas, and reaching their full potential.

Are you interested in robotics programming or learning how to use Linux? Whether you're a complete beginner, a student, or a hobbyist looking to develop your skills, I can help you build your knowledge and confidence through practical, personalised tutoring.
My tutoring is tailored to your experience, goals, and learning pace. I focus on clear explanations, practical exercises, and hands-on projects to help you understand not just how things work, but why they work. There is no requirement for any additional expensive hardware other than a Windows or Linux laptop.
Whether you want to get started with robotics, improve your Python programming, learn Linux, or work towards building your own robotic projects, including the use of frameworks such as Robot Operating System, I can help you take the next step.
What I Teach:
Robotics & Programming – Learn the fundamentals of robotics, programming logic, automation, software frameworks and controlling robotic systems.
Linux & Computing – Learn how to use the Linux operating system, navigate the command line, manage files, run programs, and develop practical computing skills.
Practical Projects – Apply your knowledge to real-world challenges, combining software, hardware, and design to bring projects to life.
