I am a tutor in the Abergavenny area, willing to give lessons from my home or come to you within reasonable travelling distance. I am bilingual in Welsh and English and happy to tutor in either language at primary and KS3 level.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach all primary subjects, including Welsh and am able to teach Maths through the medium of Welsh if required. I am also happy to teach GCSE Welsh (first/second language), Eng Lit/Lang and Music.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I have a bachelor's degree in Music from Durham University and a Masters in Business Management. I qualified as a teacher through a PGCE (bilingual in Welsh and English) at Bangor University. In addition, I trained in teaching adult literacy and numeracy at the North Bay Adult Literacy Centre in Ontario, Canada.
- How much do you charge?
I charge £20 for an hour long session and £10 for a half hour.
- Where do you teach?
I will teach from my home in Abergavenny. Alternatively, I am willing to travel to Brynmawr, Merthyr Tydfil, Cwmbran or Hereford (at a non-rush hour time).
- When are you available?
I am available (depending on location) from 4.30pm - 8pm on school nights. I do not work during school holidays or weekends.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach all primary age groups and key stage 3. I am happy to teach adults who wish to improve their literacy or numeracy skills.
- What kind of experience do you have?
I am a Year 6 teacher and Literacy Coordinator at a Welsh medium school in Blaenau Gwent. I have also taught KS3 English and Music at a leading academy in Westminster, London. I have also worked tutoring adults in Ontario and have many years experience teaching instrumental and music theory lessons.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
I have a DBS check as I am a working school teacher.
