About Samantha

I am an Elementary Education major focused on Kindergarten through 6th grade, currently finishing my senior year and completing my student teaching. Prior to returning to school, I worked for two years as a long-term substitute teacher for grades Pre-K through 2nd. I also spent seven years homeschooling my children in grades Pre-K through 3rd, gaining extensive experience in differentiating instruction to meet diverse learning needs. My tutoring lessons are uniquely tailored to each student’s interests and skill level. In our first session, I assess students using a reading sample, writing sample, and spelling inventory. Based on these assessments, I develop customized lessons designed to inspire and challenge, while aligning with State Educational Standards in Literacy.

I specialize in building strong reading, writing, and grammar skills through personalized, engaging lessons for students in Kindergarten thru 6th Grade. I use proven methods like phonics-based reading support, vocabulary games, and guided writing exercises to help each child grow.
