About Sukanya

I hold a master's degree in Computer Engineering from Florida Institute of Technology, where I graduated with a 4.0 GPA, and a bachelor's degree from NIT Calicut, India. I ranked in the top 3,000 of approximately 1.4 million candidates in the JEE Main examination, one of the world's most competitive exams. I have served as a teaching assistant to my mathematics professor, volunteered as a math and science tutor for school students at Ramakrishna Math, and coached students one-on-one for competitive exams. I am patient, encouraging, and fully adapt to each student's pace, explaining every concept step by step in clear English until it clicks. I can also support students in Telugu and Hindi.

About the lesson

I specialize in SAT Math, covering Heart of Algebra, Problem Solving and Data Analysis, and Passport to Advanced Math, and I ranked in the top 3,000 of about 1.4 million candidates on India's JEE Main — so I know both the content and the pressure of a high-stakes timed test. I teach concept-first strategies with timed practice, helping students fix weak topics and raise their scores with confidence. I hold a master's degree from Florida Institute of Technology (GPA 4.0) and have experience as a teaching assistant to a mathematics professor, a volunteer tutor, and a one-on-one exam coach. I also support students who speak Telugu or Hindi.

I've known Sukanya for several years, and she's one of the strongest mathematics minds I know. With an engineering degree from NIT Calicut and a master's in Computer Engineering (4.0 GPA), she has the kind of deep, first-principles understanding of math that can't be faked — and, more importantly for students, the patience to explain it simply.

What sets her apart is how she teaches: she breaks a hard problem into small, clear steps and makes sure the student actually understands *why* each step works, instead of just memorizing formulas. Anyone who has worked with her knows she prepares thoroughly, communicates clearly, and genuinely cares whether the other person gets it.

I recommend Sukanya to any student or parent looking for a math tutor without hesitation — she's knowledgeable, reliable, and makes difficult topics feel approachable.
