About Sebastian
Sebastian – Economics and Maths Tutor (Ma First Class, Oxford MPhil student)
Hi! I’m Sebastian, a postgraduate Economics student at the University of Oxford with a First Class degree from the University of Edinburgh. I previously work at an asset management firm as an Analytics Engineer, using economics, maths and data in applied settings every day.
Having studied at a local Chinese school until I was 14, I am also fluent in cantonese and am currently learning Mandarin (HSK5 level). I would also be Happy to help with Chinese homework and language learning up to these levels.
As Head of School for Harrow Hong Kong, I organised and ran clinics for IGCSEs across a range of subjects. I also tutored IGCSEs and A-Levels to younger years outside of school. During COVID, I worked as an au pair, where I helped children with homework in English and Maths for six months, so I’m very comfortable supporting younger students as well as older ones.

I was taught elementary computer science and practical python coding by Sebastian with the result that I am more competent at assuming my professional duties around company infrastructure. This was a paid short term engagement last quarter 2022. Whilst I knew him offline, lessons were conducted online. I found his explanations effective, with questions replied to in a light hearted but useful manner. He was patient and timely.
