About Tess
I am currently in my 2nd year of my PhD in organic chemistry at McGill University, working with professor Jim Gleason to synthesize BCP-containing hybrid drugs. I am currently located in Montreal, QC (Le Plateau Area), but I am originally from Niagara, ON and did my undergrad at the University of Waterloo in Biochemistry. As I am located in Montreal, I am available to tutor in person if preferred, however any tutoring outside of Montreal I can only do remote via Webcam :)

During my undergraduate degree, I tutored introductory, organic, inorganic and biochemistry. During my 3rd and 4th year, I was also a teaching assistant for introductory chemistry, biochemistry and organic chemistry, which I continued to do in graduate school. In 2021, I was also a student teacher at Kings Collegiate high school - where I taught labs, classes and did private tutoring in chemistry and biology. I believe I have a lot of experience both in group tutoring and individual to cater to students' needs/learning styles. I also have a very open schedule and am happy to tutor as much as needed :). Although I am a graduate student, I feel that I am very approachable, enthusiastic and outgoing. I feel that my students can easily ask me for additional help, let me know when they are struggling, etc. With my many years tutoring and teaching at high school; and undergraduate levels, I think I could use my knowledge to help students at different levels and with different backgrounds.
