About Louisa
About me, my name is Louisa and I am in second year at the University of Leeds studying philosophy. I have grown up learning piano so this has been a constant alongside school and work for me, and something I have kept up lessons with until I achieved grade 8 roughly a year ago now. I still play in my spare time, and would love to teach others as it is one of the best feelings when you are able to make music. With grade 8 in piano, I know the exam experience well and feel I'd be able to prepare those who did want to go on the ABRSM grade route. These achievements are so inspiring for me and I hope to inspire others by supporting them.

I would be offering either a 30 or 60 minute lesson to support with achieving ABRSM grades (1-5 since I am a beginner) and basic music theory. For my teaching, I will follow what has worked best for me to achieve my qualifications (grade 5 music theory, grade 8 ABRSM piano). This includes flashcards for scales and theory, and with the pieces it is section by section and building up the tempo and dynamics once we have the notation down, as a couple of examples. Of course, any suggestions or personal preferences in teaching I would look to incorporate as well. I'm happy to teach any age, and have good experience with children from a previous job at Greenside Care-club.
