About Cassandra
I have graduated from my PGCE course at UCL’s IoE in 2023, specialising in Spanish, Italian and French. I have been teaching in London ever since.
I have studied at the Sorbonne University in Paris and Salamanca University in Spain, with an emphasis on translation and linguistics.
Languages give students an opportunity to understand another culture and build respect and awareness as an individual. Equally, being an individual who enjoys immersing themselves in other cultures, I believe it is extremely beneficial to make use of out-of-classroom learning experiences, especially in language learning.

Through my experience as an MFL secondary school teacher and online tutor, I have come to realise that the acquisition of a language goes beyond just having another skill.
I look at creating engaging and interactive lessons in which students are consistently exposed to the spoken language to promote their confidence and create a safe environment in which they can explore the language without fear. On the other hand, as an individual who grew up bilingual, I feel that the inclusion of students for whom English is not their first language is extremely important.
