About John
I am a seminary student in Washington state. Over the past 10 years I've led Bible studies, church small groups, and even a high school youth group. Over that time I've had to develop the ability to study God's word, understand it, come up with a lesson or group discussion, and do it quickly! While I do have some seminary training, I believe that these skills are helpful for all Christians- regardless of whether they feel called to vocational ministry. I would love to be able to share what I've learned with you!

The Bible is deep, powerful, living, beautiful, and formative. However, it's also complex and sophisticated, and most of us haven't been taught how to read it (let alone teach it)! While I am happy to adapt to your specific needs, I typically suggest one of two approaches: Training: For those who want to grow their personal Bible-study skills, I will teach you how to read the different genres in scripture to understand the author's original message and how to apply it to today. Coaching: For those already leading a Bible study, I will meet with you to help you develop or enhance your curriculum and tailor it to the needs of your group. I also make myself available as a "walking talking commentary" to help you figure out the more difficult texts.

John is knowledgeable, patient, and able to clearly communicate concepts. Loved taking classes with him & listening to his explanations and questions. He is a wonderful resource and worthy teacher!
John is an extremely knowledgeable individual with years of professional experience and an aptitude for teaching. With John, you'll be given the tools you need and the support required to be successful.
John was my group leader for a while. He has great depth of knowledge, and an ability to break it down into bite sized bits that are easier to understand. He is strong at asking you questions to help guide you to an understanding when you are close or pose information that will help you get to the understanding! Highly recommend using John to help you learn!
