About Brian
I studied Industrial Design at the University of Cincinnati [DAAP] where I had 5 internships with 4 companies in 3 states, and participated in studio projects including the ICFF award-winning furniture collection Section 001. I have over 8 years of experience designing furniture for large-scale manufacturing. Advocating for the best user experience during product development and validating proposals with user research is my passion. Designing for sustainability by using healthy materials, designing for product use extension through serviceability and responsible end-of-life disposal is our responsibility as contemporary industrial designers. Manufacturing carries real constraints, knowing when to challenge those constraints and when to work with hard parameters makes a great designer. I've been mentoring students through school projects for years.

It's easy to get stuck on a school project. I can offer critique in project framing, storytelling, aesthetics, visualization, manufacturability, and have a wide network of professional industrial designers I can tap into for niche interests. I'd love to help you navigating your undergraduate Industrial Design studio projects.
Additionally, for graduates struggling to find their way into a desired industry, I can help you on a path to get there.

Brian was a fantastic mentor at a pivotal point in my career. He helped me through my capstone project in my final semester of college and reviewed my portfolio multiple times as I prepared to enter the industry. What sets Brian apart is how direct and actionable his feedback is. That kind of clarity challenged me to delve into the details, and pushed my growth as a designer. Beyond the design feedback, Brian went out of his way to connect me with resources and contacts that were instrumental in landing my first role. Years later, I still find myself applying lessons he taught me in my everyday work as an Industrial Designer. Brian is an invaluable asset and I can't recommend him enough.
Brian is a great mentor! I met him when I was recommended by a professor to help me improve my Industrial Design portfolio. He took time to thoroughly look through every detail of my projects. His feedback was spectacular. He showed me how to improve each detail and gave great reasons why. I was not only able to take this feedback and apply it to my portfolio, but I also learned valuable design lessons that helped me grow as a designer. The time he took ultimately helped me land my dream internship! I highly recommend him to any industrial designer who is seeking to learn, improve, and grow.
I've worked with Brian professionally for almost 10 years now. He has the ability to perfectly blend customer requirements, engineering requirements, and manufacturing requirements when working through a design. As an engineer, his technical knowledge, thoughtfulness, friendly demeanor, and work ethic make him by far one of my favorite designers and colleagues to work with! Knowing he’s passing that knowledge on is incredible! Anybody getting to learn from him is truly fortunate!

I was definitely strapped for funds as a student and when I was new to my career as a designer. If money is a barrier, let's chat about it.
