About Fabian
Creativity has always been essential to who I am, first sprouting from artistic endeavors when I was young. Writing and storytelling are other mediums of art and expression; however, I believe them to be the most intimate, as our ideas are most directly and beautifully displayed. Everyone is a poet, everyone has something to say; it's just about finding the right words to say it. Many view studying literature as just reading dusty old books. While that may be true, these the writers of these words were sought to capture the human soul and portray the experiences of humanity. These authors likely never intended for their passion to be loathed by students hunched over a desk, but rather to be enjoyed. Behind fancy words and abstract metaphor, these writers felt the laughter, joy, pain, and sorrow that we do. They simply poured their hearts onto the page. Literature is just another form of expression—like a painting, dance, or movie—only it takes a little more effort to discover its true beauty. As a tutor, I want to help reveal that beauty and inspire my students to discover and develop their own voices.

My method of teaching is to walk step by step with the student asking questions and guiding them to create a product that is ultimately theirs. I simply act as a catalyst for their own creativity while inputting critique and improving skills such as style, tone, and voice. In literary comprehension I take a similar approach to the Feynman method, finding out what the student already knows and working with them to fill any lapse of understanding while teaching study tips for them to use as well.
