About Liam
I believe sociology is not a subject to be memorized, but a way of thinking about society. My teaching is built on dialogue, interaction, and mutual learning rather than one-way instruction. Every lesson is an opportunity for both the student and myself to question assumptions, compare different sociological perspectives, and develop new ways of understanding social issues together. My goal is not only to explain theories clearly, but also to help students become more confident, independent, and critical thinkers.

I am an SFU Sociology student offering tutoring in Introduction to Sociology, Social Theory, and Deviance. My teaching focuses on helping students understand sociological concepts instead of simply memorizing definitions. I emphasize comparing different theoretical perspectives, explaining how frameworks such as functionalism, conflict theory, symbolic interactionism, and intersectionality approach the same social issue from different angles.
