About Thea
I’m a singing tutor with over 6 years of experience and a Licentiate of Music in Voice. I specialise in working with adult beginners, hobbyists, and those returning to singing after some time away. My approach is gentle, encouraging, and focused on building a positive, low-pressure environment where learning can truly flourish. I believe that singing is not only a musical skill but also a powerful form of self-expression and self-care. My lessons emphasise breathwork, vocal relaxation, healthy posture, and mindfulness to help students sing with ease and awareness. We work together on tone development, pitch accuracy, and emotional connection to music. I enjoy teaching a wide range of styles, including Jazz, Folk, Blues, and Contemporary Adult genres. Whether you’re singing for joy, personal growth, or creative exploration, I help you move forward with clarity and confidence. Lessons are paced to your comfort level and personalised to your voice and goals. There’s no pressure to be perfect just space to discover your sound and enjoy the process. My voice lessons are designed to support each student’s unique musical path, whether you're a Suzuki style learner or part of a choir or orchestra. I focus on building strong foundations in breathing techniques, vocal health, and pitch accuracy. These skills help students sing with control, confidence, and clarity across any genre. For the Suzuki Student, I emphasise listening skills, repetition, and expressive phrasing to align with their ear-led learning style. We use simple vocal warm-ups and familiar melodies to build comfort and technique. For the Orchestra Member, I offer structured lessons that develop vocal blend, sight-singing, and performance readiness. Both benefit from emotional connection and expressive delivery, tailored to their musical background. I integrate pitch training apps and vocal tracking tools to help monitor progress and make learning interactive. Lessons include performance practice and musical storytelling to bring songs to life. My goal is to create a supportive space where technique and emotion work together. With clear guidance and engaging tools, every student learns to sing with strength and expression.
