About Kian
I have over five years of experience as a singing tutor, and I hold a Bachelor of Music Education with a focus on voice. My passion lies in vocal storytelling, especially through Jazz Standards, Broadway solos, and Golden Age repertoire. I love helping students bring songs to life by mastering swing phrasing and jazz ornamentation. Character interpretation is a key part of my teaching, and I enjoy guiding singers to express emotion and personality in every performance. I also teach lead sheet reading, which helps students gain confidence in musical structure and improvisation. I work with passionate adults, seasoned singers, and community theatre actors who want to deepen their connection to music and improve their stage presence. My lessons are tailored to support each student's unique voice and goals. Together, we explore the nuances of classic styles and make every song a memorable experience. Whether preparing for solo pieces or ensemble work, I tailor lessons to meet individual goals and challenges. My lessons are structured but flexible, allowing room for personal expression and growth. I provide clear feedback and encourage steady progress, building both skill and confidence. Together, we develop a strong, healthy voice that can adapt to various musical demands. My goal is to help each student excel and enjoy their singing journey.
