About Omotayo
My name is Ambali Omotayo, a Nigerian visual artist whose practice explores the human figure and everyday experiences through expressive drawing and painting. I teach because I believe many art students are held back by rigid rules and imitation rather than encouraged to discover their own voice. My goal is to share practical artistic knowledge while helping students think independently, observe deeply, and trust their instincts. Through guided exploration and experimentation, I help students move beyond copying toward confident, authentic expression, so they can create work that is intentional, personal, and truly their own.

My approach to art and teaching is centered on observation, honesty, and self-expression. I help students move beyond imitation by guiding them to understand their own artistic voice. Through practical exercises, open dialogue, and personalized guidance, students learn how to develop ideas, experiment confidently with materials, and refine their work without losing authenticity. I create a supportive learning environment where mistakes are part of growth. My goal is to help students gain clarity, confidence, and ownership of their artistic expression, becoming independent and expressive artists rather than copies of a style.
