About Taylor
What sets me apart is my background in social work, as I hold a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and am currently pursuing my Master of Social Work (MSW). This training allows me to approach tutoring with patience, strong communication, and an understanding of different learning styles and challenges. I also bring a diverse perspective as someone from California, which has helped shape my adaptability and ability to connect with students from different backgrounds and experiences. I aim to not only improve academic performance but also to empower students with the skills and confidence they need to succeed beyond the classroom. Hi, my name is Taylor, and my tutoring approach focuses on creating a supportive, structured, and engaging learning environment tailored to each student’s needs. I begin by assessing the student’s current understanding of math and science concepts, as well as their academic goals, particularly in college readiness. From there, I develop personalized lesson plans that break down complex topics into clear, manageable steps.
A typical lesson includes reviewing key concepts, working through guided examples together, and then allowing the student to practice independently with feedback and support. I also incorporate strategies for problem-solving, test preparation, and effective study habits to help students build both understanding and confidence over time. My goal is not just to help students complete assignments, but to ensure they truly grasp the material and can apply it independently.
I work with middle school, high school, and early college students who need support in math, science, or preparing for college-level expectations. Whether a student is looking to strengthen foundational skills, improve grades, or prepare for exams, I adapt my teaching style to fit their individual learning pace and needs while maintaining a patient and encouraging approach.
