My approach to tutoring students in their academic studies is to encourage stream-of-consciousness writing with no judgement ('just do it'), which we then work together to edit; I support you to practise skim-reading for gist and key points; encourage you to write memos (short summaries) for each of the readings you do, so you build up a resource bank of materials to continuously draw on and avoid the feeling of information overload. I encourage and support you to focus on good habits including low-tech living/ regular social media switch-off, sleeping well and daily hours outdoors. These down times allow your brain and body to rest and recharge and enable knowledge processing, idea generation and free thought. One of the hardest tasks when producing assignments, or academic papers is finishing it. I provide accountability coaching to support you to get writing out of your head, off your desk and into the public domain.
