About Rob
I’m a Senior Software Engineer with experience designing and building high-performance backend systems in real-world production environments. I enjoy helping students understand not just how to write code, but how to think through problems clearly, debug effectively, and build confidence as independent engineers.
My tutoring style is patient, practical, and tailored to each student’s goals. Whether you’re learning programming fundamentals, preparing for technical interviews, working through coursework, or trying to understand system design, I focus on breaking complex ideas into clear, manageable steps.
I bring professional experience across backend engineering, distributed systems, APIs, databases, performance optimization, and full-stack development. I’m happy to help with languages and tools such as Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, SQL, Git, and cloud/backend architecture.
Students can expect structured lessons, clear explanations, and a supportive environment where questions are encouraged. My goal is to help you leave each session with more confidence, stronger problem-solving skills, and a deeper understanding of the material.

Anybody looking to learn more about software development.
What techniques do I use?
Active engagement and personalized instruction. Software development requires lots of practice, so I encourage hands-on exploration as much as possible.
What does a lesson plan look like?
That is something that will be decided depending on the student's needs. If the student is enrolled in a course, then we will focus on what is being covered in that course. If they aren't in school or are exploring, then we can do guided exploration.
