About Lucy
Hi! I'm Lucy Munro an indie singer/songwriter from Christchurch, New Zealand. I have loved music for as long as I can remember, growing up in choirs, being in school productions, learning to play instruments and now creating my own music! I released my debut album 'Lost in Imperfections' in 2023 in my final year of high school which has now gained over 17,000 streams on Spotify. In 2024 I played shows in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin and have built a small fanbase online. I am currently studying a Bachelor of Music at the University of Otago with a specialization in composition/songwriting and performance. In 2023 I won the APRA lyric award for the Canterbury region at Smokefree Rockquest. In 2024 I won the Aotearoa Composers' Prize for Achievement in Songwriting through my university. Lessons can be either 30 minutes ($30) or 1 hour sessions ($50)
I am passionate about developing any existing ideas you may already have, but am able to provide structured lesson plans if you are seeking more guidance.
Anyone is welcome, whether you want a mentor to provide feedback to your independent work or whether you are completely new to songwriting and wish to learn the basics!
Being in the music industry, I have experience all the way from writing the songs in your bedroom, to recording the songs, to releasing them, to playing them at live shows! I am more than happy to share my knowledge and love for songwriting above and beyond just how to write a song.
