Hi, I'm Rachel! I am currently studying at the University of Southern California (USC), majoring in Neuroscience. I have been tutoring for 2 years and enjoy helping other students achieve their academic goals. I am a self-motivated and progress-driven tutor with a well-versed background in tutoring English. I have been tutoring International Baccalaureate (IB) English for 2 years, and have tutored Grade 10-12 students. I have conducted crash courses for Individual Oral and Paper 2 for IB English in a hybrid individual-group format.
I am a detail-oriented tutor and I love working with students. I am proficient in experience teaching English, both in individual and group instruction. Having excelled amidst a rigorous educational system in Singapore, I am equipped with the academic knowledge to give students the best tutoring.
I believe in a practice-based lesson approach and guide my students to effectively improve their writing by helping them work through their writing strategy. Having scored 7s throughout my IB journey, I relate to the difficulties they face and teach them the strategies I used to improve their writing, according to IB's requirements.
