About Carly
I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Hispanic Studies, a Master of Arts in Applied Linguistics, and a PhD in Spanish Language Education. During the past 13 years, I have worked with learners from many backgrounds and levels of experience. My passion for language developed through cultural exploration, literature, and communication studies. Teaching allows me to share that passion while helping students achieve meaningful goals. Supporting language growth remains one of the most rewarding parts of my profession.
My teaching philosophy focuses on clarity, encouragement, and practical communication. I believe learners progress best when they actively use the language in meaningful situations. Lessons are structured to build confidence gradually while maintaining a supportive atmosphere. Students receive personalized guidance that reflects their individual needs and objectives. This approach creates a positive and productive learning experience.
Outside teaching, I enjoy studying cultural history, reading Spanish literature, and exploring language-learning methodologies. These interests help me bring fresh perspectives into lessons. Watching students gain confidence and communicate successfully is incredibly rewarding. I strive to create an environment where learners feel supported throughout their journey. My goal is to help students develop lasting fluency and a genuine appreciation for the Spanish language.

My Spanish lessons are designed to help students develop a strong and reliable foundation in the language. Students adapting to Spanish-speaking environments receive support with practical communication and daily interactions. Activities include vocabulary drills, conversation practice, reading exercises, and pronunciation training. Regular feedback helps students strengthen accuracy while developing confidence in their speaking abilities. Consistent practice leads to steady and lasting progress.
My goal is to help students become comfortable using Spanish in real situations. As confidence grows, learners begin expressing ideas more naturally and understanding conversations more easily.
