I adapt my lessons to the needs of the student. For example, if you were looking to expand vocabulary I'd use one of the following methods:
- A short chapter from a book/article will be assigned for you to read before hand. We will then discuss the article or book chapter together. This is with the aim of expanding your vocabulary and then giving you a chance to learn how to use it in conversation.
- If you aren't confident enough in reading I would use image cue cards for topics for us to discuss.
- For people not yet that confident I would chose a vocabulary subject and review the vocab with you, creating reference cards you can go back to with synonyms.
