About Me – Luiza
I am a dedicated Spanish tutor with years of experience studying the language since the age of 13, which has allowed me to build a strong linguistic foundation and a deep understanding of how students learn most effectively. Over time, I have successfully taught more than 50 students, helping them improve their vocabulary, pronunciation, reading comprehension, and overall confidence when communicating in Spanish.
My teaching style is patient, structured, and supportive, designed to make students feel comfortable while progressing consistently. My Approach as a Tutor – Luiza
Teaching method and techniques:
My teaching approach is based on active reading, vocabulary recognition, and repetition. Since these first lessons are text-based, students learn by understanding words in context and gradually becoming familiar with the language. I strongly incorporate the flashcard method, encouraging students to create their own cards from the texts we study. When they find a new word, they research a sentence containing it, write it on a flashcard, add pronunciation and translation, and practice repeating it aloud. This technique strengthens memory, pronunciation, and confidence at the same time.
A typical lesson plan:
A lesson usually starts with guided reading of a short text suited to the student’s level. We analyze vocabulary, pronunciation, and meaning together. Then, students select unfamiliar words to turn into flashcards. After that, we practice speaking and repetition exercises using those same words in new sentences. We finish with a quick review activity to reinforce retention and ensure the student feels comfortable using what they learned.
