About Elia
With 20 years of experience as a violin tutor, I have successfully guided around 300 students, including high school students, college learners, and adults, helping them develop both skill and confidence in violin playing. My teaching approach is simple, structured, and student-focused, allowing each learner to progress at their own pace.
I focus on important techniques such as posture, bowing, rhythm, intonation, and tone production, ensuring a strong foundation. I break down lessons into small, easy steps so students can learn without feeling overwhelmed. I also guide students on effective practice methods that help them improve consistently.
One of my proud achievements is helping students perform confidently and enjoy playing music. My aim is to make learning violin a meaningful and rewarding experience.

My violin teaching philosophy emphasises clear communication, flexibility, and practical learning experiences. I adapt lessons to each student’s learning style, pace, and goals to ensure effective understanding of both technical skills and musical expression.
I focus on posture, bowing, fingering, tone production, intonation, phrasing, and expressive playing while encouraging creativity and personal interpretation. I include real-life examples such as learning favourite songs, performing for friends or family, and exploring the emotional impact of music to make lessons practical.
I also teach music theory, rhythm exercises, ear training, sight-reading, and basic piano skills to strengthen overall musicianship. My goal is to create a motivating and inspiring learning environment where students progress confidently and enjoy music.
