About Florent
I hold a degree in mathematics and a teaching qualification, and I've spent several years tutoring high school students — from Algebra II and Precalculus through AP Calculus AB and BC.
My approach is simple: most students don't struggle with calculus because it's hard, they struggle because a gap from an earlier year never got closed. So the first session is diagnostic — I work through problems with you, find where the reasoning actually breaks down, and we fix that first. From there we build up, with you doing the talking and the writing as much as possible. I'd rather you explain a limit back to me badly and then correct it than watch me solve it perfectly.
For AP students, I work backwards from the exam: the free-response format, the specific things graders want to see written down, and the handful of question types that come back every year. We do timed practice well before May so the exam feels familiar rather than sudden.
Sessions are online or in person, and I'm happy to work around test dates and problem sets — send me what you're covering in class and I'll come prepared.
First lesson is free, so we can see whether it's a good fit before you commit to anything.

Flo was my private tutor during my HS. He followed me from AP Pre-Calc to AP Calc AB/BC and was one of the reasons I got really good grades on my AP exams.
He is an amazing listener who always took the time to understand what my weaknesses were before fixing them by creating very specific exercises on the fly to help me learn.
