With 7 years' of drumming experience and a Master’s in Applied Music, I offer a disciplined yet creative style of teaching. I’ve performed with orchestras, jazz groups, and modern bands. These experiences help me teach drumming from multiple perspectives. My lessons focus on accuracy, technique, and expressive playing. Students learn timing, coordination, and dynamic control. I incorporate exercises that strengthen both speed and finesse. I tailor every lesson to the student’s needs. My teaching environment is warm, structured, and supportive. I encourage clear communication and steady progress. Students receive detailed practice plans. I celebrate achievements and help learners overcome challenges. Musical versatility is emphasised throughout the curriculum. I believe in teaching students how to listen deeply to their own playing. Drumming is a form of storytelling through rhythm. My drum lessons are designed to provide a comprehensive learning experience, combining technical skills, musicality, creativity, and practical performance readiness. Each lesson is tailored to the student’s level and goals, whether they are beginners developing foundational rhythms, intermediate drummers refining coordination and technique, or advanced players preparing for performances or recordings. Lessons cover timing, hand independence, stick control, coordination, groove, dynamics, rhythm reading, expressive phrasing, and ensemble skills. I incorporate exercises, play-alongs, song practice, improvisation, and collaborative activities to make lessons practical, engaging, and well-rounded. Students receive guidance on effective practice routines, milestone tracking, and goal-setting to ensure steady improvement. My teaching environment is supportive, patient, and positive, encouraging learners to explore creativity and take risks. Lessons emphasise listening skills, musical analysis, and practical application in solo and group contexts. Students gradually develop technical proficiency, rhythmic independence, coordination, and expressive ability while cultivating their own style. Milestones are celebrated to maintain motivation and reinforce progress. Each session balances structured skill development with creative exploration to foster independence, versatility, and confidence.
