Mathematics can be particularly hard to conceptualise at times, regardless of what level it is. The approach I have consistently applied in my own endeavours is to work through examples. This can be difficult on your own in an unfamiliar subject though and often times I have myself benefitted from the help of a tutor. As such, I have based my own style upon this; helping individuals through selected examples that serve to demonstrate greater aspects of a topic while explaining the methods at work. This method has been particularly productive at a high school level. The tutoring of economics is a bit more fluid depending on the level, given the shift towards becoming increasingly quantitative at university level and thus requiring a different skillset.
I am currently a student at The London School of Economics, however my experience in tutoring arises from my time at The University of Cape Town, where I led a tutoring group for a year. In addition to this, I partook in the SMILE outreach program for almost four years, teaching in rural communities in my native South Africa.
