About Huw
I am beginning university this September after studying for seven years at Tiffin Boys Grammar School, where I have completed A Levels in History, Economics and Politics (predicted 3 A*’s). Along with this, I achieved the top available grade in my AS English and gained all A*’s or A’s at GCSE. I have a genuine passion for these subjects and have widely read around them - giving me a breadth beyond the specifications I have studied. My sporting background means I have coached children rugby and cricket for several years so I have an understanding of how to get the best out of people - I demonstrated this in the world of academia when I tutored a young lady GCSE English and she achieved a 9 (having been predicted a 7). One to one tuition is a brilliant method of enabling a student to gain confidence and identifying any weaknesses whilst continuing to develop strengths that set a student apart from the others. I aim to inspire students to develop a passion for their subjects as without this interest it becomes increasingly difficult to develop knowledge and skills beyond the basic level. Through modern techniques such as monitored online quizzes (using quizlet) I set and through prescribing interesting reading, my pupils develop quickly.
