About Yusuf
As a mechanical engineering student at the University of Birmingham, I have an interest in using physics, maths and chemistry to improve the world around us. Having previously worked in several different sectors, such as administration, retail and cinema, I have a lot of experience dealing with the needs of customers and can communicate in a polite, friendly but accurate manner. Having also finished 5th nationally in the prestigious "formula one in schools" competition, I know what it is like to have a passion for these subjects and how to apply it to real world scenarios.

Lessons for GCSE students (years 7-11), with a possibility of teaching at A-level. Each lesson would last 1 hour and would use a mixture of worked examples, textbook learning and past paper questions to reinforce understanding within the student. Having previous experience teaching maths to struggling students at my former school has allowed me to develop skills in which I am able to effectively communicate with students, and develop a mutual understanding of what topics need to be targeted and fixed. Lesson plans can then be adjusted to reflect the students' needs for the most optimal outcome. Students I worked with went up by approximately 2 GCSE grades as compared to their predicted grades.
