About Chris
I am a high school graduate and have tutored younger students within my school in Biology and am well-versed in human biology, evolution, cellular biology (cell cycle, protein structures, the nature of rhodopsin), and numerous other subjects under the SQA curriculum. I also have thorough experience working in a lab as I was given the opportunity to spend a week at a marine laboratory and study the various organisms in the area.

I teach students taking high school level biology, whether it be Advanced Higher, Higher or National 5 and are feeling overwhelmed with the volume of the course or struggling with specific aspects. As I am currently undergoing training to become a classroom assistant, I am an extremely patient teacher and attempt to explain the more complicated aspects of the material using analogies tailored to each individual and their interests. My lessons are based off gaining an understanding of first, where the individual stands regarding their understanding of the material and figuring out the specifics of the problem as well as offering examples based off past papers to help the student ensure that they understand the concept I’m helping with. As a person, I’m very laid back and I feel that this spills over into my teaching method, helping to create a relaxed environment where the student won’t feel stressed should they make a mistake.
