About Simon
I started learning guitar from my eldest brother around the age of 7. I really got the bug when I plugged in his old Hofner Guitar ... think I was 12 years old at the time, and that was me hooked, for life!
At 15 I made the naive decision to be a guitarist in a rock 'n' roll band, and did my first gigs with school friends. After alot of line up changes, at 17 finally our band became semi pro and started playing paid gigs in and around my old home town.
After a few years we gained local success and found a manager. We then got signed to a major record label and publishing house and enjoyed major tours, recording, gaining country wide recognition.
Since that time I've remained a full time musician, singer songwriter/producer in my studio also gaining a HND in media and did 1 years teacher training along the way.
When I starting to teach guitar professionally around 20 years ago at Linda law Music School,
a year later I started teaching my own private students and set up my own teaching business.
I'm still finding out new things about music everyday, and still have the same sense of excitment I felt all those years ago, thats why guitar is cental to me,
hopefully i can pass on years of guitar experince for others to enjoy

lessons I teach will give you the skill to play the music you love from 30min (6-12yr) to adults for 1, 2 or 3 hours + group lessons.
I have an HND, Level 3 teaching qualification and played as a guitarist/song writer for a major label band and have taught professionally from my studio Nr the Etihad stadium Manchester for 15+ years, I also travel locally for home visits if needed and do music production at the studio.
If you're a beginner I'll take you through the basics so you have a good understanding of chords, rhythm and some starter music theory. I teach using RGT method or less formally by playing easy starter songs.
If you already play I'll focus on the playing styles you'd like to refine and improve on e.g. finger style, lead playing, Blues, funk, rock, metal etc and hopefully give you a better understanding of how theory can help you navigate the fret board also if you're intersted, how songs are structured to help if you would like to write you're own compositions.
