About Sbongile
Hello, my name is Sbongile, and I am a dedicated and reliable tutor who is passionate about helping students improve their English skills. I am currently pursuing a BCom degree, which has strengthened my communication, academic writing, and analytical abilities—skills I bring into every lesson I teach.
To further prove my abilities, I have received national recognition as a Top 3 finalist nationally for the category of formal poetry. In matric (Grade 12), I was a part of the silver academic team.
Although I am a peer tutor, I take my role seriously and maintain a high level of professionalism in my lessons. Students and parents can expect punctuality, clear communication, and lessons that are tailored to the learner’s needs and academic goals.
My goal is not only to help students improve their marks, but also to help them become confident readers, writers, and speakers who can use English effectively in school and in everyday life.

I take a supportive and patient approach to private tutoring, focusing on helping students build confidence while improving their English skills. My teaching style is interactive and student-centered, meaning I adapt my lessons to match each student’s learning pace, strengths, and areas that need improvement.
I offer lessons in English grammar, spelling, reading comprehension, and public speaking. I explain concepts in a simple and clear way, using practical examples and exercises to make sure students fully understand rather than just memorize rules. What makes me unique is that I create a comfortable learning environment where students feel free to ask questions and make mistakes without fear of judgment.
I am proficient in English and can also assist students who are more comfortable receiving explanations in isiXhosa, which helps bridge understanding for learners who may struggle with English-only instruction.
In a typical lesson, students can expect a structured but flexible session that includes explanation of key concepts, guided practice, and feedback. I also provide tips and techniques to improve reading fluency, spelling accuracy, and speaking confidence, especially for presentations and public speaking.
My lessons are best suited for primary school, high school, and first-year university students who want to strengthen their English foundation, improve their academic performance, or become more confident speakers and readers.
