About Alisha
Hello there, I'm Alisha! Thank you for taking the time to consider me, and I hope you can give me just a couple of minutes to introduce myself and share why learning chemistry with me could be the right choice for you. Coming from an Asian Desi Indian Fijian background, I was raised in a family that places a strong emphasis on education, and my lifelong goal has always been to honor the sacrifices of my immigrant parents by striving for excellence at every important stage of my life. This has shaped both my work ethic and my empathy, and it guides the way I support my students. Having recently completed high school myself, I understand the pressures students face, including academic expectations, family responsibilities, moments of self-doubt, and the fear of falling behind when everyone else seems to be managing well. This firsthand experience allows me to connect with my students in an honest and supportive way. I know what it feels like to feel overwhelmed, and I aim to create an environment where students feel understood, encouraged, and guided at a pace that suits them. I have been fortunate to learn from exceptional teachers and to receive high-quality tutoring from one of Sydney’s most recognized tutoring centers. These experiences have given me a strong understanding of what effective teaching looks like, both in content knowledge and in the way a tutor motivates, supports, and inspires their students. Combined with my own academic experience in HSC Chemistry, I bring professionalism, authenticity, and a genuine passion for helping students reach their full potential.

My tutoring approach is strongly student focused and guided by the belief that every learner is unique. I take the time to get to know each student personally so I can understand their strengths, challenges, and preferred learning style. This helps me tailor my teaching methods, whether through visual explanations, step by step breakdowns, practice questions, or conceptual discussions, to what works best for the individual. My lessons typically run between 1-2 hours and are structured to be engaging, supportive, and highly personalised.
As a recent high school graduate who completed HSC Chemistry with consistent A range results, I have a clear and up to date understanding of the syllabus, exam expectations, and the common areas where students need extra support. I teach both Junior Science and HSC Chemistry, and my lessons are suitable for students from Year 7 to Year 12.
I am passionate about chemistry, and that enthusiasm shapes the way I teach. My goal is not only to clarify content but to build confidence, strengthen understanding, and significantly improve academic performance. I welcome students of all abilities, including those who feel they are struggling, and I am committed to helping them make meaningful and lasting progress.

Alisha is a patient and determined tutor. Trust me, I have first-hand experience thanks to our time spent together in my favourite high school years.
