About Laura
Hi, my name is Laura and I'm 16. I recently completed my GCSE's. As we all know, covid was an enormous obstacle for students, and for me personally, paired with health issues I have had, I was feeling really anxious about my exams. To help me learn the content I needed to know for my exams, my school arranged for me to have some 1 to 1 tutoring in various subjects. This extra help, not only helped me learn what I needed to know, but also majorly boosted my confidence and relieved a lot of the anxiety I was feeling. In conclusion, often I believe that students just need a slight helping hand to give them the motivation and confidence they need to do well and to work hard.

I tend to start by assessing my student's abilities, usually by giving them a mock test to complete, I don't give a time limit, but I do request that it is timed. Then from there we will discuss what area the student feels they are struggling in. Then, I can set up a plan for all our future lessons, which I can adapt if necessary. I have tutored a few family friends in the past, mainly last year, however I took a break this year to focus on my exams. I also passed the 11+ back in 2016, so I have experienced having to prepare for it. I would recommend my lessons for students ranging from year 3 to year 8, but I am also able to work outside of those parameters if need be.
