About Andrew
Hi, I’m Andrew :) teacher & neuroscientist at the University of Cambridge. I’ve taught 400+ students privately and 1m+ students via my online courses — featuring in Forbes 30 Under 30 & winning teaching prizes for “outstanding student feedback”.
Surprisingly, I actually dropped out of school at 16 (!) believing I wasn't “smart enough”…but self-studied my way to the highest grades at A Level (98.2%), LSE (87%), and Cambridge (94.4%) — winning ~£40k in scholarships & 11 academic prizes!
I know EXACTLY what it takes to succeed at the elite level, and I now have 15 years' experience helping students achieve their own successes: many now studying at Oxbridge & Ivy League institutions, winning their own academic prizes along the way :)
TEACHING EXPERIENCE:
• Cambridge University — teaching postgraduate maths & biophysical modelling
• London School of Economics (LSE) — taught undergraduate economics & maths
• LSE Class Teacher Award for "excellent teaching" and "outstanding student feedback"
• Forbes 30 Under 30 — for my work teaching 1m+ students via my online A Level & university application courses
• Tutored 400+ students privately — including at Oxford, Cambridge, LSE & Harvard
• Co-founded Up Learn — A Level revision startup, taught 1m+ students, used by 600+ schools
• Co-founded Anyverse — university application support site, helped 40k+ students, featured in The Telegraph & The Guardian
ACADEMIC PRIZES:
• Highest exam average at Cambridge (94.4%)
• Cambridge Trust Academic Merit Scholarship (~1% of applicants)
• Economics Examiner Prize: highest overall mark (87% average)
• Rishi Madlani Prize: highest mark (91) in Macroeconomic Principles
• Highest mark (77) in Industrial Economics
• 99th percentile GRE: 334/340 (Quant & Verbal) and 6/6 (Writing)
• 4 A*s in self-studied A Levels (98.2% average)
• Harvard prize for highest AS Level grades in the year
• 11 A*s stars at GCSE, winner of the GCSE and Business Prize
• ifs Young Business Writer of the Year: £500 prize, national competition judged by Editor of The Times
• RES Young Economist of the Year: £250 prize, international competition, judged by Nobel Prize winner
QUALIFICATIONS:
• MPhil (Distinction), University of Cambridge
• BSc (1st Class Honours), London School of Economics
• MSc (not completed), University of Oxford
Please get in touch if you have any questions or need advice/guidance — I'm always happy to help :)

I use a full suite of evidence-based learning techniques from educational neuroscience to help my students achieve the best grades possible — from mastery learning to spaced repetition, Socratic questioning, generation, the testing effect, active recall, mnemonics and more.
But it all starts with reverse engineering your exam. As an examiner at Cambridge University and A Level (Edexcel), I know precisely how critical exam technique can be for top grades. Once we understand the mechanics of your exam, scoring 100% is simply following a few well-practised steps on top of solid conceptual understanding.
I also help with coursework projects, dissertations & university applications — I previously ran the UK's largest university admissions support site, helping 40,000+ students, featured in The Telegraph & The Guardian.

3 years ago I was working on minimum wage at B&Q after dropping out of school with two U grades. Andrew told me to quit and follow my passion – videography. Over the next 3 years he showed me step-by-step how to turn this passion into a successful videography and social media business, now working with JD Sports & Red Bull on 6-figure contracts. It’s just crazy to think where I started. Andrew completely changed my life.
Extremely happy with my progression in economics. I was recommended by a fellow student. Within 6 months my mock grade in 6 th form when from a B/C TO A/A* in 7th form. My concerns regarding theory and application in exams has been successfully addressed! Really recommend!!
Andrew was a fantastic tutor for both myself and my sister whom he tutored for a second year microeconomics course at the LSE. We both found him to not only display a passion for the subject itself, but he displayed a key understanding of different learning requirements and was able to tailor his lessons and adjust accordingly to specific learning approaches something I have not found very common. I would highly recommend Andrew as a teacher as well as his teaching methods, and explanations which were a lot more simplified than those offered by the university itself. Thanks for being such a great tutor Andrew!
Andrew is always ready to invest himself to ensure his students achieve their goals. He uses the best and most effective learning techniques to ensure that by the end of the lesson you feel confident and ready to go. In just 2 lessons with Andrew, I went from 0 to 100 and now have a detailed study plan to help me with the next two years at university.
