About the lesson

I believe music is not only about playing notes but about telling a story. My teaching approach focuses on developing creativity, strong fundamentals, and confidence so that students can express themselves freely through improvisation.

Teaching Methodology & Techniques

Step-by-step guidance in harmony, rhythm, and ear training
Practical improvisation exercises from simple motifs to complex solos
Focus on both technique and expression, balancing discipline with freedom
Learning by doing: play first, analyze after

Typical Lesson Plan

Warm-up & review of previous material
Technique work (scales, patterns, chord progressions)
Guided improvisation on a tune or groove
Listening and analyzing jazz examples
Wrap-up with practice strategies for the week

What Sets Me Apart

Over two decades of experience as a jazz pianist, composer, and educator
National broadcasts and performances (CBC Music, JazzFM91)
Unique ability to connect classical training with jazz freedom
