When approaching private tutoring for music theory, I focus on a few key principles: Customized Learning Plans: Tailoring lessons to the student's current understanding and learning style ensures effective progress. Practical Application: Linking theoretical concepts to practical examples (e.g., compositions or familiar songs) helps solidify understanding. Active Engagement: Encouraging active participation through discussions, exercises, and quizzes promotes deeper comprehension. Feedback and Reinforcement: Providing constructive feedback and regular reinforcement of key concepts ensures steady improvement. Flexibility and Patience: Adapting the pace and content to the student's needs fosters a supportive and conducive learning environment. Holistic Approach: Integrating music theory with other aspects of music (e.g., performance, composition) enriches the learning experience and enhances musicality. Overall, my goal is to empower students with a strong foundation in music theory while nurturing their passion and creativity in music.
