About Elias
In addition to my professional positions, I have also taken leadership and teaching roles in unofficial capacities. For example, I taught my sister how to read and write when her ADHD became an obstacle in her learning. In high school, I was the top of my class in Algebra I and would provide one-to-one assistant to other students every class period. Similarly, in my last year of school, I completed my credits early and spent my remaining months leading small lessons and providing individual instruction in vocabulary, chemistry, world history, reading comprehension, and fine art. Skills such as patience, problem-solving, creative thinking, communication, and accommodation design have been invaluable in both official and unofficial teaching environments. All my life I’ve been guiding people through their learning journeys and taking a trustworthy, authoritative, teaching role in all sorts of environments.

When I was in school, I place in gifted and advanced programs. As an intelligent and intellectually ahead a student, I loved to learn new things and practice my skills. However, I often felt restricted and under pressure in these intense environments. I understand the thrill of discovery, moving forward, and improving oneself, and I want to provide safe spaces were that thrill can be experienced to the fullest. It’s my goal to take high expectations and anxiety away from advanced programs and prioritize understanding and enthusiasm instead.
