About Emmy
I am a young professional originally from Yorkshire, in the North of England. I have experience teaching English in various corners of the world - India, Spain, Belgium, Holland and the UK. The thing I enjoy most about teaching speakers of other languages is the exchange of cultural values and viewpoints, something that flourishes naturally in my lessons. In this way, I view teaching as a two-way street.
In my spare time, I advance my own command of the English language through writing creatively (I am presently trying to write a novel!). I also like to learn other languages, such as Spanish and French, which I feel gives me the perspective required to teach others.

I offer 55-minute student-led lessons, focusing on your individual interests and real-life situations by preparing personalised lessons to maximise engagement with the target language. I prioritise vocabulary, fluency, and pronunciation over grammar (which I incorporate as necessary). As you will see from our first lesson, my primary aim is making you feel comfortable when speaking, the rest will follow naturally.
