About Allyson
I am a passionate and dedicated teacher with a genuine love of helping learners develop confidence and achieve their potential. I have formal teacher training and many years of experience teaching children in school and tutoring learners privately. I have taught across primary school and have particular experience with English, including reading, writing, grammar and literacy.
I have completed the Qualifi Level 3 Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (120 Hours), accredited and regulated by Ofqual and awarded by Qualifi. My TEFL training has further developed my knowledge of effective, learner-centred English teaching.
I am patient, approachable and well organised, and I believe learners learn best when they feel comfortable, encouraged and actively involved in their lessons. I take pride in building positive relationships with my learners and adapting my approach to suit different ages, abilities and learning needs. My aim is always to create a supportive environment where learners feel confident asking questions, making mistakes and improving their English.

I am an experienced, qualified teacher with a strong background in teaching English to children and young learners. I hold a Level 3 Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL), supported by formal teacher training and several years of classroom and private tutoring experience.
My lessons are friendly, supportive and adapted to each learner's individual needs and level. I focus on building confidence while developing practical English skills, including reading, writing, grammar, spelling, literacy and spoken English.
A typical lesson is structured around a clear learning objective and may include explanation, examples, guided practice, questions and activities, followed by opportunities for the learner to practise independently. I use encouragement and clear explanations to help learners understand not simply what is correct, but why.
I have experience teaching learners across primary school and have also taught Grades 6 and 7. My approach is patient, structured and learner-centred, while remaining flexible enough to respond to the individual learner. Whether a student needs additional school support, help with English fundamentals, improved confidence or extra practice, I aim to make every lesson purposeful and enjoyable.
