About Karen

I am a TESOL certified teacher with a Bachelor's degree in Music and additional certification for teaching IELTS and Business English. Although I am a recent TESOL graduate, I have more than 25 years of experience teaching private music lessons (piano and theory). A native English speaker who has learned French as an adult, I am passionate about languages and am always studying new ones. Currently that's Spanish and German along with a bit of Mandarin, Vietnamese and Russian! I believe my experiences learning languages as an adult benefit my students as I understand the challenges they face and I can share both what has and hasn’t worked successfully for me as a student.

About the lesson

I specialize in teaching adults – conversational English, grammar & vocabulary; academic English – I can assist in improving your writing skills.

My lessons are tailor-made for your requirements/needs. My approach is flexible and designed to serve the individual needs of my students.

Karen is an excellent professional who really knows her subject well. She's good at spotting both the areas where students need help and where they shine. Her feedback is helpful, creating a positive learning atmosphere that helps us get better.

One impressive thing about Karen is how she motivates students to join in and talk. This not only improves our language abilities but also makes us more confident. I've personally seen a big improvement in my English skills with her guidance.
