About Cheryl

Hello! My name is Cheryl, and I am a TESOL-qualified English teacher graduated from Monash University in Australia. I have over three years of teaching experience in Australian language schools, working with students from diverse cultural and language backgrounds.

I specialize in IELTS speaking, English grammar, and everyday communication. My teaching style is supportive, patient, and practical, helping students build confidence and improve their English step by step in a comfortable learning environment.

I also hold IELTS Speaking and Writing certificates, Certificate IV, and a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC). I am passionate about helping students achieve their language goals for study, work, and daily life in Australia.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is practical, supportive, and student-focused. I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable speaking English and making mistakes in a relaxed environment. My lessons focus on improving confidence, communication skills, grammar accuracy, pronunciation, and fluency through conversation practice, guided exercises, and real-life situations.

A typical lesson is 60 minutes long and tailored to each student’s goals and English level. I provide structured support for IELTS speaking, grammar improvement, and everyday communication.

I graduated from Monash University with a TESOL qualification and have over three years of teaching experience in Australian language schools. I also hold IELTS Speaking and Writing certificates, Certificate IV, and a valid WWCC.

My lessons are suitable for beginners, intermediate learners, international students, migrants, and adults who want to improve their English for study, work, or daily life in Australia.

Cheryl's response
The student already has a good foundation in English, and with some targeted practice, she can work towards expressing her ideas more clearly and confidently. However, there are there areas can be improved: organising own thoughts, choosing more precise expressions, and explaining own ideas in a way that’s easy for others to follow. Therefore, we won’t just practise speaking in the lessons. We’ll work on real-life situations, identify what make the communication unclear, and practise different ways to express the same idea. We can also incorporate writing practice to help you communicate more effectively in both spoken and written English.
