Worked as a bartender for the weekends - Akbars restaurant
My job was to be a bartender but also i have experience of working as a waiter and helping out customers complains and needs. At first i was limited but my manager gained trust on me and i was open for my duties. I’ve always put my customers first as they are top priority and I do this by making them feel warm and welcoming making sure that they do have a nice, enjoyable time but also communication really helps as it also makes them feel wanted. With this restaurant experience it really has helped me with my confidence and it has boosted my team working skills even more hence why am not afraid to take charge when the time comes to it.
Worked at Broadway- It’s a Sweet World
During my time working at the sweet stall I have gained experience at working at the till and how to handle cash. This experience was new to me because at first I was not sure and struggled but overtime I have gained the experience to manage at till but also manage myself with cash. Also another experience I gained was dealing with stock and checking if we had enough and if we didn’t I’d report it to the manager, which will deal with the orders. This also allowed me to feel confident to work at places such as Broadway and I feel ready to work at any other high street markets.

Setting up a market stall at Bradford town centre
This was a day challenge where my year group held a market stall at Bradford town centre and the aim was to raise money for various charities and this was really helpful to me as before i was shy to talk to other but this activity really helped my to boost my confidence.
This was a school trip where me and my teachers have organised to take 50 children from our school to residential trip to Paris and this was a successful trip as all of the students did enjoy it and also we learned about France’s history and how multicultural and diverse it is. This trip was to show off my leadership skills and proving myself and the teachers that I can lead and organise with care and consideration.
Currently I am a University Student at Oxford Brookes and am studying English literature. Recently my time at university and experience has been great I love being independent and finding my self whilst I learn more about Literature, but also I have noticed that the university was lacking representation for people who are like me, BAME students. So I decided at the start of my 2nd year to start Brookes BAME as a safe space for BAME students to talk about teacher methodologies on subjects that is revolved around race, culture and religion. Also, we do events and recently we have held 2 events that tackles the disadvantages BAME people have had during COVID but also throughout British history.
