About Skyler
I am a theatre/acting professional, and I have a diploma in Professional Theatre. The English language is something I have studied extensively in numerous ways, and something I have always been very passionate about. I have also been writing stories and poems since I was very young. I would love to pass along what knowledge and passion I have to any and all students!

There are a few ways in which I approach teaching ESL, and they are as follows:
Talk-Based Approach:
I will ensure that my students are taught how to communicate on a social level in every day situations (i.e. ordering in restaurants, asking for directions, etc.)
Project-Based Approach:
I will assign projects that will be focused on the overall comprehension of writing, reading and comprehension of the English language (i.e. reading a text and analyzing it, writing formal letters, listening to a radio broadcast or watching a short film and relaying them accurately, etc.)
Lexical Syllabus:
This approach will be meant to help teach my students the tools and vocabulary pertaining to their field. Given the students' profession or student status, we will work on specific terms that will be used in that environment. This method will help with the understanding of vocabulary used in specific workplace exchanges, student/teacher conversations and any other professional situations.
With all of that in mind, I will keep a very open dialogue with my students in order to better understand their needs and what approach works best according to their learning strategies.
