About Logan
I have just completed my first year of study at the University of York. Although my degree is in theatre, I studied history at school until the age of 17 and it has always been one of my very favourite subjects. My main area of expertise is the 20th century, because this is predominantly what I learnt at school, but I covered a wide variety of topics including international relations, American politics, the Arab-Israeli conflict and communism in China and Soviet Russia. My essay-writing skills have always been strong across many subjects so I am confident at teaching good essay structure as well.

I will approach each topic according to its demands, but fundamentally my aim is to make a subject that is considered by some to be stuffy and boring seem engaging and exciting, and to inspire a passion for the topics being covered. I tend to ask a lot of questions to get students thinking and to help them generate their own ideas rather than prescribing my own views. Lessons will be well-balanced between this theoretical approach and practical exercises to help develop essay writing skills.
