I believe in fostering a positive and encouraging working environment. I have experience as a Primary School teaching assistant, as well as an auntie to two bright young children. I have also been a part of higher education for four years and will complete a PhD in another three, so I have full working knowledge of what universities are looking for and expecting in potential students. I also have plenty of reassuring advice on university life and higher education in general, so feel free to ask as many questions as you like!
I tend to cater my teaching towards the student and how they feel they learn best. Usually, this involves an interactive style of teaching that focuses on understanding the material, methods for memorising, and how to answer exam and essay questions easily and effectively each time.
I have four A-Levels in English Literature & Language, History, Philosophy and Politics. These allowed me to develop and eventually perfect essay writing techniques.
I also have a First Class degree in Modern History and Politics from Royal Holloway, University of London. I am currently undertaking a Masters in History, and will be starting a PhD this September.
Lastly, working part-time alongside my studies has allowed me to cultivate skills in time management, organisation and communication, which are all absolutely vital to tutoring.
