About Demi

I'm a third year Spanish student at Oxford University, with a love for yoga, watching plays and learning about the world around me. My own motivation to study Spanish came from a desire to connect with others in their native languages, to travel and to exchange ideas, cultures and attitudes. If you become my student you will also see that I am kind, organised, adaptable, methodic in my thinking and very communicative. Because I am so keen to learn alongside you, I am happy to tailor my lesson plans according to your own interests, whether they be Spanish-language folk-music, cinema, politics, sports, creative writing...

About the lesson

I prioritise learning to conjugate verbs and simple sentences, at early stages. Your pronunciation will improve over time, as my classes are very interactive, and also through exposure to Spanish-language media. Personally, I learn faster when I am interested in the material I am reading, and this is the approach I adopt in my teaching as well. So, if you want to learn about the social, literary and cultural trends/movements of the Spanish-speaking world, while learning to read, write and speak in Spanish, then these classes are definitely for you. If you are a student preparing for a specific examination (DELE/ GCSEs/ A Levels...) I will incorporate the success criteria of your examining board into my teaching, and help you achieve the highest mark possible.

I highly recommend Demi as a Spanish tutor, her passion for the Spanish language, culture, and film has always been unmatched, and she brings her passion and enthusiasm to her teaching. She is very good at breaking down complex concepts, for example grammar related, into easy-to-understand explanations.

What sets Demi apart is her encouraging approach to language learning; she motivates her students to speak Spanish freely, and make mistakes. This creates a comfortable learning environment that helps students grasp not just the language, but also the nuances of Spanish mannerisms and everyday communication. If you're looking for an experienced and qualified tutor with a genuine love for the language, Demi is the perfect choice!:)
