About Calvin
Hi, I’m Calvin, a passionate and friendly tutor specialising in Economics, Business Studies, and Geography at GCSE and A-Level. I achieved an A* in A-Level Economics and A grades in both Business and Geography, and I’ve always loved exploring how the world works—whether it's understanding global trade, business strategy, or environmental challenges. I’m currently tutoring to help save for university, and also because I genuinely enjoy helping others learn. Teaching allows me to share my enthusiasm for these subjects and help students build the confidence they need to succeed. I understand how stressful school can be, especially during exam season, so I aim to make my lessons clear, supportive, and tailored to each student’s needs. Whether you're aiming for top grades or just trying to get your head around tricky topics, I’m here to help you every step of the way.

Teaching Style & Methodology I tailor every lesson to suit the student’s learning style—whether they learn best through discussion, visual aids, practice questions, or structured notes. I break down complex topics into simple, relatable explanations, using real-life examples, especially in Economics and Business, to bring theory to life. I incorporate regular mini-assessments, past paper practice, and exam technique tips so students feel fully prepared and exam-ready. I always encourage questions and aim to create a relaxed, pressure-free space for learning. Lesson Length A typical session is 60 minutes, though I can also offer 45-minute or 90-minute lessons depending on the student’s preference and focus level. I also offer intensive revision sessions or short-term exam prep plans when needed. Qualifications & Experience I achieved an A* in A-Level Economics and A grades in both Business Studies and Geography. I have experience tutoring peers and younger students, and I’m passionate about helping others understand subjects that I’ve enjoyed studying myself. I’m currently tutoring to help save money for university, while building experience in teaching and mentoring. Who the Lessons Are For I tutor GCSE and A-Level students (typically ages 14–18). Whether you're aiming for a top grade, struggling with specific topics, or just need a confidence boost, I’ll tailor my support to meet your goals.
