About Olivia
Performing for 13 years at bluegrass and old-time festivals has been a major part of my life, but I find just as much fulfillment in helping others discover and develop their own sound.
My formal training at the Old Town School of Folk Music gives me a strong foundation and structure to bring into my teaching. I work with hobbyists, self-taught players looking for guidance, and young musicians who want to build their skills with confidence and consistency.
Over the past 13 years, I’ve worked with 165 students, helping them grow through personalized instruction. Whether you’re preparing for an exam, improving pitch control, or exploring authentic genre styling, I focus on helping you understand your instrument and develop a style that feels natural and true to your own musical goals.

Singing becomes a natural extension of your personality when you start with a simple warm up exercise in a quiet room. I begin with a diagnostic vocal assessment for every new student to determine exactly where your natural range sits before we move into belting technique or diction and articulation. My certificate from the Old Town School of Folk Music informs the way I teach rhythm and phrasing for both pop and musical theatre styles.
We incorporate sight singing as a way to build your internal ear so you can navigate complex melodies with ease. You will find that our time together centers on physical comfort and expressive clarity. I want you to feel that your voice is a reliable tool for any genre you choose to perform. We move at a pace that keeps you challenged but never discouraged during the process.
