About David
The reason I am currently at university training to become a primary school teacher is because I absolutely love what I do every day, my passion is helping children get to where they want to be. I have worked in a primary school setting for the past 6 years and I am currently on a PGCE course at Warwick University whilst simultaneously working in year 5 of a local primary school where I live in Rugby.

I am currently training to become a primary school teacher because I genuinely love what I do and, more importantly, I love the difference I can make in a child’s life. For me, teaching is so much more than helping children learn academically. It is about getting to know each child as an individual, building their confidence, encouraging them when they find something difficult and helping them believe in what they are capable of achieving. There is nothing more rewarding to me than seeing a child overcome a challenge, discover something they enjoy or simply realise that they can do something they once thought was impossible. I have worked in a primary school setting for the past six years, and during that time I have developed an even stronger passion for working with children. Every day brings something different, and I love being part of those small but meaningful moments that can have such a big impact on a child. I am currently completing my PGCE at the University of Warwick whilst also working in a Year 5 classroom at a local primary school in Rugby. Being able to learn as a trainee teacher while gaining hands-on experience in the classroom has been incredibly rewarding and has confirmed that teaching is exactly where I want to be. Ultimately, my passion is helping children become the very best version of themselves. I want every child I teach to feel valued, supported and proud of what they can achieve, and I feel incredibly fortunate to be pursuing a career where I can hopefully make that difference every day.
